ESCC Highways Meeting

We are writing to invite you to our upcoming East Sussex Highways Stakeholder Event, The Road Ahead – Highways Uncovered, taking place on Monday 20 October and Thursday 23 October 2025.  

This event has been organised especially for Parish and Town Councils to provide you with valuable information about the highways service.  

These interactive sessions focus on the most common asked questions you ask us, including:

• Why some potholes are repaired while others are not. 
• The processes behind road maintenance and decision-making. 
• Our plans for winter service. 

To help with accessibility, the event will be held at two locations – you only need to attend one session: 

It will be an interactive session, as we’d like to hear from you rather than the session be speaker led. To maximise the value of the event, we invite you to submit any service-related questions in advance so that we can address them during the sessions – please use the link below. Our intention is to centre the discussions on the broader aspects of our service; however, SLOs and stewards will be available to assist with specific individual issues. 

We are limiting spaces to two per parish to give everyone the opportunity to attend.  Attendance will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so we encourage you to respond promptly with the names of who will be attending. Who takes these places is up to you, but we suggest this could be your parish clerk and chair. 

We hope this will be the first of many sessions aimed at strengthening the relationship between Parishes and the Highways team, and we want attendees to leave with information that will help to answer those frequently asked questions from residents.
