In case you haven’t seen yet, the local government and homelessness minister today announced consultations on two proposals from principal councils in East Sussex:

  1. Eastbourne Borough Council, East Sussex County Council, Hastings Borough Council, Lewes District Council and Rother District Council submitted a proposal for one unitary council for the current East Sussex County footprint.
  2. Brighton and Hove City Council submitted a proposal for five unitary councils on a pan-Sussex basis.

The minister also announced a consultation on two proposals from principal councils in West Sussex:

  1. West Sussex County Council submitted a proposal for one unitary council.
  2. Arun District Council, Adur District Council, Chichester District Council, Crawley Borough Council, Horsham District Council, Mid-Sussex District Council and Worthing Borough Council submitted a proposal for two unitary councils.
